THE ART SCENE program is on hold until someone is found to replace me.

The same timeslot will be available (thank you, KOWL!) though the format may change depending on the host or organization at the mic.  It has been a totally wonderful experience these past 7+ yrs, and I can't think of any "job" or work I've ever enjoyed more.  My sincere thanks to all of you who supported this effort to bring the Arts into our communities over the airways.  PLEASE LISTEN to any of the over 200 podcasts currently on file on this site and continue to talk about the importance of the Arts to all of us! ~ Robert Schimmel

Hrair – expressionist figurative painter

‘HARIAH’ - and you love the spelling: HRAIR - is Armenian, born in NY, raised in London, studied art in college and was greatly influenced by living and working abroad in cities like Paris & Tokyo.  Music has played an important role in his life & work, and his art takes on a rich mix of it and Impressionist, Fauvist flavors.  In his most recent “Crown Series”, Hariah (and I quote) “touches upon the corporate rat race, the long corridor of closed doors, and the dread of expectation - the juxtaposition of the profound with the profoundly mundane.”

LAURA BEDARD is a printmaker and abstract fine artist whose work, in her words, “has both a biological and celestial feel. Franz Fox – abstract, expressionist, mixed media fine artist

FRANZ FOX, humorously put, is a reformed representational oil painter now deeply focused on his own genre of abstract art he calls “Neoplasticity.”  He studied painting in Paris & Malaga, Spain, while his formal education was in architecture which gives him a unique mastery of perspective and spatiality.  A very sad, if not tragic, event occurred in Franz's life that took his journey into art down a path he'd never imagined.  Previously, he owned and operated his own galleries but is now focused on his art and working from his studio in PA.
